My voice remains -fragile after the silence. My voice tries to explain without words why the silence is needed. My voice as just one among hundreds and thousands longs to blend perfectly into the noise of the world. My voice reflects on your skin, as you listen with each part of your body, attentively. Your eyes, a little blurry, look right through me - I’m your daydream, we’re both part of the same fantasy, so tangible and real. We are breathing the same air, in our veins the same blood circulating vividly. My voice attempts to wake you up, to shout and scream, to make things clear and end this clean. My voice, it cannot, can not, can not for my life suppress the burst of fears that quiet bears. I bite my lips while I feel tears, I taste their trace across my face. If I would speak - if I could justify with language my pretense - I might succeed to veil my needs, to say I’m fine - at least I’d try. Your hands are warm and tremble lightly, while they gently stroke my cheek. And with your fingertips your touch traces a mark across my skin. As if engraving all your worries on the surface of my body, merely just to write them down. I feel your light caress so heavy, at first it hurts. And then it’s gone.

I feel hope Dripping on my shoulder Your comforting words Echo whimsically Far away while Wicked laughter Shakes my bones. I hesitate when Sipping at my thoughts Their intrinsic dilemma Feels ancient And reassuring Ironic compassion Dilutes my heart. Fingering fingers Tip thoughtlessly touching Beloved ideas Aging flawlessly Faster than ever Frantic embrace Waters my eyes. I excavate love Eyes mole lunatically I find your advice Dumped deliberately Inconvenient Silence follows Where I end.

Will I Will I wither Will I wither in a wink Will I wither in the wink of an eye Will I oh Will I wither in the wink of an eye Will I wither more tomorrow Will I wither more today Will I withdraw Will I withdraw from your eye Will I take my eyes off of yours just a while Will I withdraw Will I withdraw from this world Will I be I and I and just I Will I withhold myself if my eye remains cold Will the world be withheld from my eye and Will my eye remain cold but alive, survive and Will I abide, while - I wither Will I Will I still Will I still weigh and Will I withstand Will my weight withstand your watching eye Will my weight still withstand your eye While you're watching me wither Will my weight still withstand your eye While you're watching me decay and Will you deny Will you deny my withdrawal Will you deny my decay and Will I withstand your denial Will you cry Will you cry when you watch me wither Will you cry when you watch my decay and Will I

about

"an august silence" draws the listener into a strange world where time stands still. The quieter it becomes and the less that happens, the more clearly the motion of silence emerges. Here sounds resemble sculptures - something present and perceivable, but static and imperishable. Yet, there are minimal movements in every detail, which are only felt by the omission of all surrounding noise.

The composition of "an august silence" addresses these ideas in a various ways. Inspired by the work of Julia Wolfe, Carolin Shaw and Kali Malone, among others, a few notes, intervals and minuscule sound fragments are examined separately in a minimalist way. With tranquility and precision they are exposed like an abstract work of art and are sustained until their inherent life comes to surface. Words are formed from syllables, whose sounds form a tapestry of text fragments and here and there abstract poetry. This is similar to paintings by Cy Twombly, where strokes and lines fill the frame. The longer one looks at it, the more it seems as if letters and words emerge from abstraction.
